OCTOBER 2018

RUSSIA

RUSSIA or officially the Russian Federation, is a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and North Asia with nearly 17,125,200 square kilometres we happen to travel the tiny parts of it i.e, Saint petersburg and Moscow.

Our day started at night in the Chartered Canal Cruise where we relaxed after the long excursion day and watched the canals of St. Petersburg and the Neva River.

Visit to Petergof - the former summer residence of Tsar Peter the 1st. And further, visited the Grand Palace and Low park. The Petergof Palace is a series of palaces and gardens located in Petergof, Saint Petersburg, Russia, laid out on the orders of Peter the Great. These palaces and gardens are sometimes referred as the "Russian Versailles". The palace-ensemble along with the city center is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

And, after lunch

We visited Peter & Paul Fortress.
Peter and Paul Fortress Visit the original fortress built by Peter the Great. The history of the city began with this

Fortress, since St. Petersburg and the Fortress were founded in the same year: 1703. Now the complex is occupied by State Museum.

And, after dinner

The Ballet!!! To watch ballet was so mesmerising also they're one of the best Chamber Ballets in Russia. The members of the Corps de Ballet are all graduates from the world famous Vaganova School and they have performed all over USA, UK, Western and Eastern Europe.

DAY3-

Started with Hermitage museum,

Hermitage Museum Explore the treasures of Russia’s most important museum situated in the heart of the city on a 3 hours excursion. Hermitage’s collection consists of more than 3 000 000 pieces of art.

And, after lunch.

We drove to State Museum, St. Isaacs Cathedral.

 - Palace Square - Kazan Cathedral - Bronze Horseman, church of Saviour of Split Blood, Nevsky Prospect, with photostop at Battleship Aurora.

And off to Catherine palace and park

The Catherine Palace is named after Catherine I, the wife of Peter the Great, who ruled Russia for two years after her husband's death. Originally a modest two-storey building commissioned by Peter for Catherine in 1717, the Catherine Palace owes its awesome grandeur to their daughter, Empress Elizabeth, who chose Tsarskoe Selo as her chief summer residence. Starting in 1743, the building was reconstructed by four different architects, before Bartholomeo Rastrelli, Chief Architect of the Imperial Court, was instructed to completely redesign the building on a scale to rival Versailles.

DAY4-

Travelled in Sapsan train from St Petersburg to Moscow.

When we reached we travelled in subway. So, Moscow subway is a famous tourist attraction because it was built in Soviet era and the stations were designed by the best Soviet architects

DAY6/7-

A morning walk to 2nd world war Museum

And,

Evening we went to Russian circus.

The Moscow Circus started in Russia more than 80 years and now the Russian capital can boast of two fascinating circuses striking the spectators with wide technical possibilities and amazing performers.

watched many shows including acrobats, trapeze artists, clowns and balancers.

Although, I was extremely heartbroken as I don't support Circus and was hurt after the show ended as I never expected to see wild animals in cages and around fire.

But, overall with the trip finally coming to an end by far Russia has a close place to my heart as I LOVED the architecture and interior.

​I'm always an admirer for vintage palaces and the lifestyle in fact even the music.

I would love to move to Russia soon.

It was a short and fun trip.

DAY5-

With few hours drive we travelled to North of Moscow-Sergiev Posad. Visited the Famous Cathedral
Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius It is one of the most important monastaries of Russia called Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius which was established in XIV century.

And after lunch we were in St. Basilius Cathedral City- Red Square - Lenin’s Mausoleum - Sparrow Hills - Moscow State University - Novodevichy Convent.

And went to-Moscow Kremlin territory with cathedrals - The Kremlin is an ancient fortress which is considered to be the heart of Russia. Nowadays the Kremlin is an official residence of the president of Russian Federation. Kremlin Museums - Armoury Chamber Armory Chamber is a unique treasure-house in the heart of Moscow, The Fund is housed in the Armory Chamber
